I doubt removing the paint saved much, maybe 100 grams? Just a guess as I really have no idea. I've rawed nearly all my bikes, even my current rig, just because it looks pretty rad and will still look good a year down the road. I really liked the CCDB on the 224, I think it helped with traction a fair bit as it was a load more compliant than anything w/ ProPedal or such nonsense. Of all the cool bikes I've ridden, the 224 is the first one that I'd have again for sure.

good way to get the tubeless to seal: its a bit messy, but use fairly liquid, litteraly god mad with it on both sides of tire, inbetween the bead and the rim, then when you pump it up the air cannot escape, and then when it pops into place it fires fairy everywhere! hahah then just wash everything and ur done

Knew you were going to ask that. Believe it was 10 weight, pretty sure it was but not 100% sure.

To be honest I'm not sure on the colour its just the stock springs in the 180mm fork. Everything kind of slowed a bit, but once it broke in it felt great. Never noticed the rebound being slow specifically before or after.

I have them up on my wall as a back up in case the Boxxer goes. No help on springs anyways. I wanted stiffer ones, but couldn't find them anywhere. Just ended up running a higher weight oil which somewhat did the trick.

I'm not too intouch with grandvalira staff but they open later, last year they opened july sometime but that may change this year with vallnord really stepping up this year. i enjoyed it when they opened later because going there in august means the tracks are less beat up
you can play some golf at the top this summer however, 9 holes as far as i remember, sweet
ill ask around and see if anybody has any information, crazy snowfalls this year so they may not know for awhile

i enjoy my 40's alot, run them for the past ~3 years now with different tunes throughout the year and now i feel its about the best im going to get for now
i haven't had much real track experience with boxxers, here it's mostly marzocchi for reliability reasons (andorra dust screws shit up) so i can't give a valid comment on them sorry. the good old twist the handlebars with the wheel between your legs the 40 wins hands down though aha

seems like a valid reason to change! i think 08/09 boxxers will become super cheap brand new and even cheaper second hand when the new boxxers start to ship at a reliable rate, maybe a better choice then the fox right

what's wrong with the dorado? or are you being tempted by the pretty pictures of the new boxxers? haha
always sucks to have to get rid of a bike just to keep another bike up to date/running but sadly that's how the sport is
hope you get it all sorted

alright man sounds good
i can for sure make it up for one of the weekends youre there, my dad likes to ride the cross country there so he can drive me up (i havent passed my test..)
the new tracks will be good what they developed last year and over the winter, and i think the commencal team will have some new tracks on the hill what aren't marked, should be a good year!

Actually if you learned how to read you would see the fact I admitted to not knowing what his bike was and that there is a possibility of the axle-crown assesment being inncorrect. I also fully acknowledge the fact that you only have balls over the internet and if I showed up at your local trails ou would stare awkwardly at your feet. Have fun being the big man on pinkbike... I'm sure you are very proud to have wasted the amount of time you have. f*ck you, and have a nice day.

Ironic really. Coming back from an injury myself. What did you do?
Weekend was a right laugh, but don't remember meating anyone directly from Surrey uni. We were riding for Sheffield Hallam, I was in the alumni class for DH and then tried the 4x.
My friend had a 224 with Dorado's they were amazing but eventually he got annoyed with the constant servicing so gave up for boxxers.
Selling my custom SX frame tho as I have just got a Sunday. Have to see how I do with a propper DH bike. One i've got a new hub and cranks.

More than likely you saw me at the BUSA's. I was going slow enough. What uni were you riding for? And of course, what rig were you using?
